Do you plan to homeschool? Send your kids to private or public school? If you have older children what type of schooling are they receiving?

Not sure yet, but most likely public or charter school.

Right now Grace is in 3/4 year old pre k at a childcare center. We will try to get her into the 4 K class in public school next year & see how that goes.

Re: School
We've talked about homeschooling before, but I'm afraid to bite that bullet. Our older girls go to public school, but over the years, we've done a few different things - public school through open enrollment, private school, and public school again. We looked into charter schools when my oldest was ready to start school, but then we ended up doing open enrollment.

Re: School
We are lucky to have a great public school here. My son is in first grade and my daughter is going into her first year of pre-k starting Tuesday

We are considering a private unschooling type of school. There are no grades, everyone is mingled together and the older kids teach the younger kids. No assigned class times and learning is through exploration not forced at a desk. No scheduled recess time as they can take a recess/play time when they want to and not make it seem like recess is a reward type of thing. They write a thesis in order to graduate instead of final exams. If not that then our kids will be homeschooled.

Re: School
KK have you looked into the Waldorf or the Reggio Emilia approach to education?

Re: School
We are starting homeschool, Waldorf curriculum. I love the curriculum! We are doing it through Earthschooling.

Re: School
Apparently our city has amazing homeschooling resources. But I'm probably going to have to go back to work.

I have capelady! There arent any nearby but there is a Sudbury school which is similar, just no extracurricular activities or sports. Maybe something else will open nearby in the meantime
