Cheddar Biscuits

2 Cups All Purpose Flour
1 Tbs. baking powder
1 Tbs. sugar
1/2 Tsp. salt
1 1/4 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar*

*I use sharp cheddar because it imparts the most cheese flavor. But you could use regular cheddar or any cheese of choice. You can also add in a couple of chopped scallions for color and flavor.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Add the cream and the cheese and stir just until a dough forms. Remove from bowl and knead the dough - gently - about 6 times. Pat into a circle that is 1/2 inch thick. Cut with a round biscuit cutter getting as many buscuits that you can until the dough is gone. (This recipe makes approx. 8-10)

Place on a baking sheet and brush the tops with a bit of heavy cream. Bake until pale golden - about 15 minutes.

Of course the easy way would be to make Bisquick biscuits & add finely shredded cheddar to it
