I agree with scanning them, just in case something happens to the scrapbook or something weird happens.

As long as you use acid free paper and "glue" (whatever attachments you are planning on using) and will have the scrapbook closed most of the time, they should be perfectly fine.

My mom has sonogram pictures of my youngest brother in his baby book (she did not have sonograms with me and my middle brother) and they are still just as clear as the ones we have of our two sons. My youngest brother turned 20 in April, so the pics are almost 21 years old (they were from 12 weeks and 20-something weeks along). I imagine that not having the book handled a whole lot helped to preserve things.
