I recommend the same as your doula. If it makes you feel better, my cervix did NOTHING until I went into labor for my first three babies. There really is no research or evidence to support cervical checks before (or during!) labor. I honestly see no need for cervical checks unless you are getting induced. But care providers have paper work to fill out so they focus on it a lot. There is an OB around here that often says "Your cervix is not a crystal ball." Love that guy.
