I agree- which is why I am asking which was easier for people who have experienced both....

And I don't necessarily think everyone here will agree with "consulting a doctor" first. Many of us (not all) use Midwives because most doctors do not practice evidence-based care when it comes to birth. You must remember that YOU are ultimately responsible for you care- your care provider simply gives you their opinion based on their knowledge and training (which differs person to person).
