It makes sense you didn't go through with it then. I can't say for sure, but I sense my doctors would have taken the option off the table if they couldn't tell the length of the cord. They were very reserved about using that method ONLY when they felt certain it was safe to try, and even then they wanted to be ready to operate just in case.
