I had a nasty GI infection at 22 weeks and dialated pretty far. I called the midwife I had been in contact with and said what do you want me to do, if you want me to go to the hospital I will, but I would prefer to try taking care of this at home. She told me to get a ton of Vitamin C and E and take a magnesium/calcium suppliment. I also took zinc to help strengthen my water bag and had two glasses of wine. I spent two days on bedrest before checking myself again (which I will say is the most nerve wrecking thing I've ever had to do) and I was back down to 0 dialation. I made an appointment with an OB just to make sure everything was ok, and I'm still planning my January homebirth.
