And what most don't even realize is that these 'routine' checks can easily be the first dominoe to fall, setting off a whole slew of intervention because of what may or may not be found.

My SIL was one that was checked at 36 weeks, and her cervix was soft, and closed, perfect for a 36 weeker in my opinion, but it convinced her that she was never going to go into labor on her own, so she was induced at 38 weeks.
