It matters because the overdue days are the longest days of your life.

For me cervical change DOES mean I will have a baby shortly. I start labor high, hard, and closed. So when I checked myself and finally had some change I knew he'd be coming shortly. He came a day or so later. He was 10 days late. NOW those 10 days don't seem like much, but they were SO VERY LONG when I was pregnant.
