I went in with some vaginal bleeding in the first trimester. We had a long wait, but it was a crazy night. There are three other hospitals in the city and they were all refusing to accept ambulences, so the one we were at was just flooded with transports in. Once I finally was seen, though, I thought the service we received was very good. I was only 10 weeks so they couldn't do a doppler. We went for an ultrasound where we saw everything was fine with the baby. I was sent home with orders to follow up with my doctor the next day. I ended up having more bleeding later that week and my doctor couldn't see me so he sent me back to the ER, where I was seen immediately and had a more invasive exam to see if they could figure out why I was bleeding. They never did find the reason, but were very kind to me. It was, overall, an excellent experience considering the circumstances.
