Should the father know before-hand?
this is stemming from the recent Teen Mom 2 bombshell that Jenelle's ex Courtland didn't know she was pregnant or even had an abortion until after the fact. should woman be expected to tell the father/assumed father that she is intending on having a baby aborted?

first off, i am very pro-life. but i think that Jenelle at the time made the right choice in aborting, because she doesn't have custody of Jace, why is she adding yet another baby that Babs may have to care for. but when it came to not telling the father, i didn't feel comfortable with that.

I do feel like the father should know. It may be her body but its his baby as well. Needed him to even create the baby. he should have rights.

Re: Should the father know before-hand?
I think the right thing to do is tell the father, but as itchy as father's rights make me... he doesn't have to carry the baby, his opinion should be considered, but it's hers that really matters.

It's a really slippery slope.. because if he wants it and she doesn't.. she can abort. If she wants it and he doesn't, he gets child support for 18-19 years.

Re: Should the father know before-hand?
I do not agree a mother should have the sole consent to abort a child. Men don't have the "parts" to carry a child, and there are many men who wish to raise children as single fathers. A baby can only be made if an egg AND a sperm is involved and therefore both parents should have to consent to an abortion. I do believe there should be flexibility in circumstances such as rape or abuse.

The man might have to pay child support, OR he may be a great single father.

It's appalling to me that women would have an abortion and not tell the father. Especially if the father knows he has a baby. I'm also very pro-life.
