Child spacing question
I realize child spacing means so much more to AP moms. Only this group can get the level of dedication and I have a high needs son so I am so on the fence and I my main concern is that I have been home with LO the whole time and he is very protective of me and huge mama's boy. I don't use baby sitters.

I really think I would like to have 2 kids under 3 years of age so that they have a sibling in their same age group. My LO is 16.5 months but for the life of me, it breaks my heart for him, when I think of adding another baby. He wants to be held constantly and still pretty much EBFs as he only does a little baby food.

How do you know when it's time from AP point of view. I cant even think about leaving my LO to go to the hospital for 2-3 days to have a baby that's how little I left him. I just don't know if he can adjust. I have read studies written by therapists who have clients that are middle aged and have issues steaming from childhood where they felt jaded when a sibling was added.

What do you guys do?

Re: Child spacing question
I loved having my older 3 close together because they can be playmates.BUT having Isabel 5 years apart from my second youngest has been AWESOME. I love having just one baby to focus my baby-related attention on.
BUT then I think--awe, she's not going to have a sibling close to her age to play with.
I'm sorry this is probably not helpful. I feel like 2 years would still be too close to enjoy all that I want to with just 1, and I feel like 3 years borders on too far for them to be playmates, so like there's not real "perfect" spacing in terms of what I would want. However, babies can always have friends other than siblings, so I'm leaning toward slightly enjoying the big gap (years) best.

Re: Child spacing question
The ideal siblings age gaps would be 3. But it's really up to you what gap works or suits your family or when you are ready for a next child. What is important is that you can look after your children and provide their needs.
