Breakfast foods?
What foods do you offer your LOs for breakfast? Do they still take milk alongside solids breakfast foods? Do they have milk in a bottle or a cup?

Re: Breakfast foods?
Max and Emma have wheetabix or oatibix with raisins or banana. Max has a bottle of milk when he wakes up, Emma has milk as or when she asks for it through the day.

Re: Breakfast foods?
Mischa has a breastfeed first thing, as soon as she wakes up. Then she usually has porridge for breakfast, followed by a Petit Filous. As she is showing more of an interest now in finger foods I will start trying her on other things for breakfast, like banana & toast, and see how she gets on.

Re: Breakfast foods?
Amara is breastfed first and then she have breastfast which is usually one of these options (toast, cheese, cheerios) plus fruit (apples (usually stewed), pear, avocado, grapes).

How do you make your oatibix/weetabix? I tried to make it (with milk and then with water) but she didn't like it. I didn't put anything else in it. Funny enough, she would eat a bit of it dry but I used to think it was too coarse for her gums.

Re: Breakfast foods?
I use formula milk on her weetabix but she wont eat it now as she can't self-feed it!!

This morning she had cheerios, I used formula on them until they were soggy and then drained off most of the liquid and just let her use her hands.

Re: Breakfast foods?
We usually do a bottle first thing (formula) then in an hour/hour and a half we do cheerios and fruit or something to that effect. The fruit depends on what we have in the house. Its usually chopped up bananas, apples or strawberries. We've also done cut up toast. I'll try purees every once in a while but most of the time its self feed or nothing!

Usually I do a bottle for the first feeding of the day but for lunch and his late afternoon feeding I'll do a training cup.

Re: Breakfast foods?
Karl has either oats or weetabix, sometimes toast of fruit bread toasted then he'll have 4-5oz of formula milk. I use full fat milk on his cereals.

Re: Breakfast foods?
Grace nurses as soon as she wakes up (though that's soon to change) and then after her morning nap she has oatmeal with fruit, a handful of cheerios and half a tub of yogurt.

Once we cut out her morning nursing session, I'll probably give her whole milk first thing, with some cheerios and yogurt instead of after her nap. She still doesn't like the texture of bananas but we'll offer that when she gets over that.

Re: Breakfast foods?
Evan has a full BF when he gets up around 7am, then around 8ish I give him weetabix with whole milk and he also has 1/4 slice of toast purely because he loves to feed himself with anything he can get his hands on!
