Giving your children the same name ??

Example ; I have a friend whose brothers are named Grayson Mitchell and Mitchell Alexander .
I personally would never do it .. even if the names did have some significance to me .

That's like George Foreman.....I would never do it. I want my kids to feel unique.

carlyheartsphil August 23rd, 2006 03:43 PM

yea I think if it has special meaning, give it to one of your kids not all of them, I'm sure you could come up with something else that has special meaning to give to another child.

Hubby and I just dscussed this last night! Our daughter is Mia Isabella, and I was wondering would it be awful to name this one Isabel... he said it was too close. Too bad. We are serously considering Hannah, so I said what about Isabel for a middle name then, but he still thinks too close. I guess I have to agree even tough I love the names :)

I think each child should have his/her own unique name.

yeah if it has significance,, it should be sufficient to use it for one,, I don't think its a good idea

I don't see a problem with it. My Dad and Uncle are like that. My Dad is John (no middle name but he uses his confirmation name, Michael, as his middle name), and my Uncle is Michael John. My Dad was 6 when my Uncle was born and he didn't understand why the baby couldn't be named after him, so they did. ^_^

I think this is also a nice way to remember a child that has passed. My Mom's step-mom is Philomena after her sister Philomena that died as a baby.

No way! I wouldn't do that.. then you would have 2 of the same names growing up..

suthernWVswthrt August 23rd, 2006 04:55 PM

Absolutely NOT!! I think each child should have their own name...

*bRiTnEy* August 23rd, 2006 04:57 PM

Well i wouldnt do that sounds pretty weird if you ask me. Its like naming twins Layla and Tayla i mean just because they are twins dont mean they have to have almost thesame name. I like twins names to go but one letter difference i mean come on im sure they would like their own identity.

LaLa August 24th, 2006 09:23 AM

I probably wouldnt do it, but I dont really see anything wrong with it esp if there is a significance to the name. Strange, though, b/c Ive never been fond of the folks who give twins similar names. lol.

To each's own ;)

My first reaction was that each kid should have a unique name, but then again I plan on giving all my children my maiden name as a second middle name so I guess I'm okay with it after all!

Debbie*TTC August 24th, 2006 10:16 AM

No, I wouldn't do it.

MamaBx3 August 24th, 2006 10:53 AM

Hanny August 25th, 2006 08:43 AM
