what is the meaning of your childs name?

my son's name is dylan alexander

Dylan - of the sea (it's welsh)
Alexander - defender of men / protection of mankind (it's greek)

i think this is funny or whatever, so i tell everyone. we found out we were having a boy. then we had chose the nursery theme, then we chose our son's name. our nursery theme was "ocean". we bought everything water and ocean for the baby's room, ya know... then my husband and i went through a baby name book. i glanced at the meanings of names, but not really paying too much attn to them. i wrote down dylan. i told my husband the name and he loved it and we chose it. then i realized it means "of the sea". how funny

Sydney - From the city of St. Denis
Anne - gracious

Parker - cultivated land
Ross - From the peninsula; horse

Meredith - Protector of the sea
Reese - ardent one

I just got these meaning from JM...honestly I have no idea. I don't take meanings into consideration at all.

I never looked them up beforehand, they were chosen just for the names, and I don't remember them now - except for Angus, which means "unique choice" - and it is, lol. Don't come across many babies named Angus!
