Small breakthrough
DH and BM finally had a conversation about DSD and her behavior. This is the first time since DH and I have been together, 9 freaking years, that they've actually had a civilized conversation where they both listened to each other. It turned out that I was right on all parts and DSD has been playing both of her parents. When she's with us, it's how BM and step dad are evil and mean to her. Then when she's with them it's all how evil and mean we are to her. I'm so glad they finally realized that she's playing them both for fools and neither one of them are bad parents. Well, the jury is still out on BM with me, but that's my own opinion on the matter. They came to the agreement that from now own they will have a small conversation at the drop offs to assess how she's been acting in both homes. I hope this is the start of a good parental relationship between the two of them. DSD really needs some intervention. I even suggested that they take her to counseling. I hope he takes my suggestion and speaks to BM about the possibility.

Re: Small breakthrough
I think a lot of children do that. I have a lot of stepmom friends who say this happens in their families. "Our" BM & us never end up being able to have civilized conversations (we've tried....many times) so I couldn't tell you if that happens in our situation or not. (but probably)

Yay! I'm glad they've finally seen the light! I hope he takes her to counseling. Sounds like she really needs it.
