Have you ever given blood?

Re: Rqotd
Yes, twice now. The last time was just a few weeks ago. They have it on record as 3 but the first time I went they couldn't get a good vein and they didn't fill the bag. It was a bad experience.

The past two times though have been easy peasy.

Re: Rqotd
Just once. You know it didn't go well when the nurses suggest you don't come back. I actually got a phone call from the blood services asking if I wished to speak to someone about my experience because they heard it wasn't good, and telling me they had councillors I could talk to if I needed one. I admit it wasn't a pleasant experience but I didn't think it was as bad as they made it out to be.

Re: Rqotd
I haven't. I don't do well with needles to begin with. My mom used to go all the time, I really wish it was something I could bring myself to do, but unfortunately I can't.

Dh isn't allowed to for something like 10-15 years because of all the vaccines and crap he's been exposed to over seas... He would probably do it if he could.

Re: Rqotd
I never have, but I have A negative blood, so my mom is encouraging me to. I'm not a fan of needles though, although after being pregnant, they don't bother me as much as they used to!

Re: Rqotd
Needless I can handle, but when they withdraw blood I just cant. Especially if they take it from the inside of my elbow. My veins like to move around a lot there and 9 times out of 10 they miss the vein and root around trying to find it.

Even blood work i force them to take it from my hand because Im tired of them missing my veins. If I could donate blood that way I might consider it.

Re: Rqotd
I've never done it before but I keep thinking I should. I have "good" veins for bloods draws, so it is always really quick.
