Question about head cushions in newer car seats
My youngest is 7 months and ready to move into a convertible seat, but I’m debating if we just use what we already have or invest in a new one for better safety. The two from my son that I was thinking of passing down to her is the Britax Roundabout (3 or 4 yrs old) and Britax Marathon (about 4 yrs old). I was looking at car seats on the market today and noticed they all have extra head cushion’s. Does anyone know if that makes any difference in a crash? Neither our older Roundabout or Marathon have that extra padding – I was wondering if anyone has read about how much safer is it having those in crash tests? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Re: Question about head cushions in newer car seats
Are you referring to the head wings?

The Marathon (new version and old version) and Roundabout (both new and old) do not have head wings like the Boulevard does (new and old version) and the Advocate does (again, both new and old). It's just a difference in the seats, kind of like "bells & whistles". A seat is no unsafe without them, and there is no proven statistics that a seat is safer with them.

Go with a seat that is in your budget.
