I just wanted to remind and inform who are possibly or who are facing unplanned pregnancies that there is a veriety of free and reduced cost services available from Planned Parenthood. These services include pregnancy testing, STD/STI testing, Pap smears, breast exams, emergency contraception, birth control, free condoms, early pregnancy screening, abortions, cancer screening, treatment for UTI/kidney infection/yeast infection/BV, and many provide regular medical appointments much like a walk-in clinic.

Most importantly they provide pregnancy counseling. They can help you go though all of your optionsand work with you though all of your feelings about those options. They can provide you with information, facts, and the ear of an uninvolved party to listen to you and help you make the right choice for you. This is often a free service so if you aren't sure what you want or need information this is a great place to get it.

If there isn't a Planned Parenthood in your area there are often independant women's clinics that offer the same services. Sometimes your local health department will offer them as well.

Awesome post; thank you! I think a lot of women aren't aware of all their options. I'm totally freaked out but lucky enough to be involved with people and organizations who support me and make my choices known.

Thank you ladies! I teach a Sex Ed class though my local Planned Parenthood and it's just great info to have.

I should also add that you should beware of "crisis pregnancy centers". Sadly these places are usually religion based and often provide no real medical advice. The staff generally have no medical training (some go as far as to impersonate nurses and/or Dr's) and usualy lure unsuspecting women in with free pregnancy testing (usually a home pregnancy test) and free pregnancy counseling. In these "conseling" sessions women are generally given false information about abortion and many use scare tatics, guilt, and bullying to get women to keep thier babies or to put them up for adoption.
