What is the most thoughtful thing a doctor/nurse/other healthcare provider has done for you?

When a routine ultrasound revealed that my amniotic fluid was low and my son was too small, I needed a high resolution u/s to reveal the extent of the problem. But the high res u/s was booked up for days. My OB managed to get a sonographer to come in early and my OB met her there just so we wouldn't have to wait to get answers.

Thank you Vicki for my awesome siggy!!

Rebecca, that was very thoughtful of your Dr not many would do that.

For me it was my cardiologist. During the time I went through heart failure my Ob's were telling me that I could not have anymore children. Dr. G told them that it was up to him and my heart whether I would be able to have more children. During the next 6 months my heart went back to normal and I was told I could have another child, we had planned on waiting until Nick was 1 but 7 months after my Heart failure Jonathan was concieved while we were on three different forms of BC.

I think the most thoughful thing my Dr has done is trust my instincts. So many Drs forget that we are the ones that are preggo that they don't let us tell them if something is off, or they won't listen if we tell them something is right either. My Dr commented when he was pulling my stitch how well I knew my body.
Mom to 3 (1998, 2000, and 2009), step-mom to 1 (1995), two four-legged babies who bark, wife and full time student.
My days are busy, my house is messy, and my heart is full!

My pulmonologist is the doc that regulates my coumadin. He has done so many amazing things for me. I think it has something to do with me being a bit of a "different" patient since most of his patients are elderly and with lung issues. Having me as a patient has been a bit of a learning experience for him. He was the one who told me I was pregnant (I was the first person he ever had to tell that to.). He got me in to see a hemotologist the next day. Every time I see him in the halls at the hospital he asks me how I am doing. The most thoughtful thing he has ever done was at the begining of my pregnancy he told me very plainly that it was new teritory for him, but he would do his best to find an answer to any questions I had. Plus he gave me the go ahead to have him paged overhead at the hospital where I work if I ever had a hard time getting through to his office!
