I saw a couple of posts on here about it--my doc told us Tue. Should we be worried?--he said as long as the concentration stayed down, we'd be ok. Just was curious, as anything on the internet is pretty nebulous.

It's only a problem if the baby has the E protien. I have a K antibody and although it registered on each titer, it was always just barely enough to measure. Basically if your blood cell is a tree it should have leaves on it (the leaves are the natural protiens) and your body would make antibodies if you were exposed to different leaves (think maple vs oak). So as long as you and baby have the same protiens you are safe. It's something that they should be checking monthly though to watch and make sure your levels aren't rising.

I have anti-e. It's not been a big deal for me this pregnancy, and I'm due any day now. Basically, my titers have been 1:1 the entire time which is the lowest they can possibly be. I visited with a peri early on for a consultation but my OB/GYN manages my care and is responsible for the bloodwork. So far, so good! It is scary because it's kind of rare, but not as rare as people may think. There is another girl in my DDC who has anti-E as well, and when I had my son in 2006, there was a girl in my DDC then who had it. We've all had successful pregnancies. The girl in my DDC already had her baby and he's perfect

So... if you ever have any questions, feel free to PM me. There is also a message board dedicated to isoimmunization and the girls there are really, really knowledgeable and supportive. If you'd like to the link, please PM me!

Thank you RaspberryBeret for my gorgeous siggy!
