I went to the ER today for chest pain. They did a bunch of tests to rule out PE. Before I left, they mentioned my OB ordered a Factor X-a test and she would have the results in about 3 days.

I've never heard of this and from what I'm gathering, it's a test to monitor my levels while on Lovenox, and the results will determine whether or not my dosage needs to be increased. Am I on the right track?

I didn't have my levels monitored with my previous pregnancies and I'm wondering if this is why my last two ended at 13 and 15 weeks.

Thanks for your help

I started to give you an "i've never heard of it, either" answer so, I googled it.

Factor X deficiency: MedlinePlus Medical Encyclopedia

It sounds like a mild form of hemophilia that affects both male and female, not just males. I hope that helps.

Mom to 4 beautiful kids! 3 on Earth and 1 in heaven. Our little girl, Matilda Hope had Down Syndrome. She was born with TMD, a disease that is like leukemia. She fought that and beat it. Then, she had liver failure. She beat that, too. On October 17, 2014 she had NEC, necrotizing enterocolitis. My baby went to Heaven on October 19, 2014. She lived exactly one month.

During my first pregnancy my hematologist sent me for one of those blood tests once a trimester to make sure that my Lovenox dosage was still where it should be. I have not had one yet this pregnancy, but I also have not seen my hematologist yet.
