Hi all! I'm in the May 2012 DDC but thought you guys may have some suggestions for me.

I was admitted to the hospital 10 days ago for pre-term labor at 28 weeks, 2 days. Luckily, thanks to hospital bed rest and nifedipine, baby is still cooking and labor doesn't seem to be progressing. I see my main doctor tomorrow and it sounds like I'll be going home at some point before delivery (the docs are still fighting about whether to discharge me next week or keep me until 32 weeks). I'll be on bed rest at home though.

Anyway, here's my question -- I spend a lot of time in the hospital alternating between sitting up and lying down. That's easy because of the nice button on the bed! At home, though, no such luck.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a nice pillow to use while on bed rest at home? I already have a Snoogle to sleep with but need something for sitting up. Do you guys just use those ones that look like pillow with arm rests?

Thanks; I appreciate any suggestions!!

Welcome! I have only experienced hospital bed rest so I am no help, but hopefully some of the other moms will chime in. Fingers crossed that you stay pregnant as long as possible!

I get thrown on bed rest every pregnancy (pre term labor, irritable uterus) I find that regular fiber containing pillows work best instead of the downed version which tends to flatten way to early and easily. Also a body pillow (boppy make them) works well. I hope you continue cooking that baby as long as possible. ALso did the nurses change out that horrible mattress that is usually in place? My birthing center here has softer mattresses for their extended stay patients you might want to ask.
