I had a procedure (leep) done which caused me to have to get my cervix checked repeatedly through my prior (first) pregnancy. In the end I did NOT have to have my cervix stitched, however I did end up on bedrest at 32 weeks for preterm labor. I will again have to keep an eye on my cervix. during this second pregnancy, but the OB says I should be ok since I had no issues with it last time. Also I have a condition (luteal phase defect) that increases my likelihood of misscarriage. Is it safe and for how long to breastfeed and pump for my 8 month old while pregnant with my second (VERY early first trimester right now).

I would check with your OB, but it should be fine. I know many mothers that nursed throughout their pregnancies. You may want to check in on the breastfeeding board.

Wishing you a healthy and happy (and long) pregnancy!

I've nursed through several pregnancies and generally I think it's 100% fine. But since you are in a different situation you should check with your OB.

I think i'ts alright to breastfeed your baby even you are pregnant today, but after you deliver the second child you may consult your OB.
