Hey all! I'm popping over because we recently found out I am high risk because our daughter, Everleigh, has cysts on her kidney. I now have to go to a high risk OB and have ultrasounds often to monitor it. They said that the kidney will most likely not function, but her other one is growing bigger and stronger to compensate. I had my amnio on Tuesday and will get some results tomorrow and the full results in 8 days. They also found a calcium deposit in her heart valve, which they said is really normal, but still needs to be monitored. Anyway...just looking for some support from other moms going through tough times!

Congrats and welcome! I'm sorry to hear that your DD has cysts on her kidney, but glad they were able to find it early and monitor it. I hope the rest of your pregnancy is healthy and easy.

My daughter had the same thing and it turned out to be polycistic kidneys. She just turned 5 today and she is healthy as can be She has never had function of her left kidney and we spent a lot of time in the Children's hospital the first year. She was placed on a daily antibiotic from day 1 through 2 years to prevent urinary tract infections, went in for regular ultrasounds, kidney reflux tests and MRI's. When she turned 3 instead of going every 2 months, we went every 6 months. We now go once a year. They told me she wasn't going to make it because her "good" kidney was not 100% in utero. Don't listen if they tell you the same thing!
