I got a call from my doctor and they said that during my anatomy scan on Tuesday they noticed a Echogenic intracardiac focus (EIF). A small bright spot on the baby's heart. It can be an indicator of chromosomal abnormalities, but most of the time it is nothing. The nurse told me that they see these fairly often and that it usually turns out to be OK, and not to worry too much. To be on the safe side they are sending me to a specialist on Tuesday. I'm not sure what to expect.Has anyone else gone through this? I've read that they usually do a more detailed ultra sound but I've alse read they may do an amnio. Just looking for others experiences to know what to expect.Thanks....

Mom to 4 beautiful kids! 3 on Earth and 1 in heaven. Our little girl, Matilda Hope had Down Syndrome. She was born with TMD, a disease that is like leukemia. She fought that and beat it. Then, she had liver failure. She beat that, too. On October 17, 2014 she had NEC, necrotizing enterocolitis. My baby went to Heaven on October 19, 2014. She lived exactly one month.
