Hello Im Sara from TX. After 9 long years and one angel baby, we are finally pregnant!! EDD 8/26/14!
Im overweight and have high BP. I Had found a med that controlled the bp but isn't preggo safe so now im starting labetalol and its making me a nervous wreck. my heart races and im shaky... how can this be baby safe? I wont get my first sono until Jan 31st at 10weeks3days... grr

Congrats. I'd probably call my ob/gyn office to ask about the medicine. Or at least see if the dose is right if it's causing you those issues.

Welcome and I hope you have a H&H pregnancy! Those are common side effects when you first start Labetalol, but you can call your OB for reassurance. They should get better. Are you monitoring your BP?

I see it's been awhile since you posted about your symptoms, but I wanted to let you know that I had the same problems the first week or so on Labetalol and it cleared up after that. I was on a different med with my first pregnancy that I preferred, but the OB's at my new midwife's office are more comfortable with Labetalol. Hope your issues cleared up and the med is keeping everything under control!
