My name is Lana I am 43 years old and just found out that I am pregnant for the first time.... OMG... needless to say this was not planned.... Met the love of my life last year we got engaged about 2 months ago and I bought my wedding dress about 4 weeks ago nice and tight... We have planned on going to Jamicia March to get married on the beach.........well it looks like Iwill be about 6 months pregnant when it we do....... I just keep asking my honey how this happens and he laughs and ask me if he has to explain the birds and bees to me. I am soooooooo schocked and scared... Now what do I do?........I need to talk to other mommys who have going threw this or are also going threw this...............Lana

Just pooped in. I am not part of this subforum just wanted to congratulate you on your pregnancy and wish you a happy and healthy 9 months. On a side note i would suggest to you (coming from my GYN and the fact that Stephie's godmom is pregnant on twins and she is 41) you have to find a doctor you trust (if you don't already have one) and be in close very close contact with him because any pregnancy after an age needs close monitoring. Not that anything will happen but the risks are bigger kwim? The doc will tell you themselves also. Be careful and take good care of your body. As my GYN told (i was pregnant first time at 34) i was borderline for many complications.....and HAHA..... i got some of them in the end also....we are not in out 20's and that means that we have to be very very careful

I wish you the best on this as i am sure the best will be for you !

CONGRATS!!! I'm sure were all gonna have the same questions..my biggest fear right now is the down syndrome and T-18 birth defects that can come with getting preggers at our age. The choices I would have to make if the test come out negative. I have amazing docs that I feel comfortable with. Remember if they are not treating you right or reassuring your fears you need to shop around for a new doc..they work for YOU! I look forward to reading everyones post!
