Would you ever consider moving to another country?
If yes, where would you like to go?
If no, is there a particular reason why not?

No. There are so many reasons why I couldn't and wouldn't move abroad. My fiance owns his own business as a farmer and would never give it up. He wants our son to take it on when he is old enough. If I moved country I would miss my mom WAY too much, and of course the rest of my family too. My mom could not deal with another child moving countries, especially her only daughter.

Having said all that, if none of those were stopping me, I would LOVE to move somewhere else and start fresh. Somewhere warm, with plenty to do for kids, preferably near to a beach...maybe LA. A girl can dream

Would you ever consider moving to another country? yes me and dh have already talked about this before and i would totally be willing to move abroad!! i think it would be a great experience specially for the kids!
If yes, where would you like to go? one place we talked about was Australia...we would BOTH LOVE to move there....Ireland would be another place we would like to move to....yes it would be hard to move away from family/friends....but I think it would be worth it

I have considered it. DH is from Holland and before he immigrated, we had to decide whether to start our life there, or here... we chose here.
If we ever went anywhere, it'd probably be there. But, I don't think we would at this point.

I would if I could. I worry about being so far from anyone I know and starting over as a single parent in a new country. If I did move it would probably be somewhere with great family benefits (Switzerland is really good I've heard, if I remember correctly), or just somewhere really nice with lots to do for kids, etc. Maybe France, or Holland or Italy...never put too much research in it, just kind of a 'it would be nice' thought.

If I were more fluent in the language, I might consider Italy. We traveled there 5-6 years ago and I LOVED it. Especially Tuscany. *sigh* But in reality, we love our house & land here and we don't plan to move at all, unless we decide to retire elsewhere.

Yes, we've thought about it but realized the reasons we'd go would still be reasons for issues over there too cuz the worlds economy is just crappy all over LOL.

If we moved we'd probably either go to Canada or Ireland or Scotland. I would love to spend time in India tho but probably will never get to. But I would if I could spend like 6 mths there. A wee bit of time but not a ton.

Nah, we like being stuck in a rut here in the US of A .

I've never been out of the country, though, so if we visited some other places, I might feel differently (I will eventually, but we go on lots of car trips for now). It's hard enough being away from family within the same country, though.

I'm so surprised to see so many of you wanting to come to ireland. Its an amazing country, to visit. We are lovely people, every town is a party town and you will be well fed, beautiful sights. But to live here? no one has a job right now. taxes are scandelous, and people queued for up to 5 hours last night to go to a working abroad exhibition, just to see how they would go about getting out of here. (hence my idea for a topic!)

Part of me would love to go. FOr the adventure, and because prospects for my boys arent great here. But, my husband has a secure job and we have family close by.
If we went it would be either to Canada or New Zealand. Plenty of work in both places! and sure half of new zealand and australia are irish atm. We have a tendency to kind of take over!

there aren't many jobs here in the US either...i know people that have been applying for jobs left and right...and they come up with nothing....even with a college degree...its just that people dont want to pay people who are experienced and people without experience can't get hired....its a loose loose situation....but you will probably find that where ever you go

If it was just DH & I, we'd probably be in Europe somewhere. But since we have kids, there's no way we'd consider moving. Our families are in USA & Canada, and we love being able to have them close by.
