do any of your kids need braces or retainers? if your kids are not old enough....did you have them (or should you have had them?)

raianna seems pretty good with her teeth....
elyse on the other hand....her mouth is so small...that something will need to be done...i will be taking her to the orthodontist tomorrow to figure out a game plan for her....her dentist suggested that a tooth or two be pulled (adult teeth) so she has more room in her mouth...i am sure she will need braces or something as well

helena will probably need braces as well...not sure im a little concerned about her bottom teeth in general as she has 3 front baby teeth....2 of her baby teeth fused together before they cut through....and they said that there is a small chance the adult teeth can do that too....they said most likely though that will not happen...but you never know! she has her first dentist appt in July where they will take xrays and we will i guess find out then if the adult teeth are in good shape! she does have a pretty big gap in her front 2 teeth we'll have to see hwo the adult teeth come in as of course she hasn't lost any of her baby teeth yet...

I dont think jake will need them. Even tho they are his baby teeth still, they are perfectly straight and no gaps.

I never had braces and neither did dh, but tbh i think dh could have needed them on his bottom teeth.

As of now, no. I'm not sure what age they even get concerned, though? Alexis has perfect teeth right now.. no gaps, perfectly straight. But she's not lost any yet (she's 6, and many of her classmates have! we're still waiting...)

Neither dh or I needed braces, we both have straight good teeth.

I had them for 3 yrs.

I guarantee my oldest will need them. The younger two may get away with a retainer but we will have to wait and see on them. Their top gums/teeth arent straight so thats why I think retainer but not full on braces...need to move the gums. But if we can get away with no braces than that works for me.

However, my oldest is definately gonna have to have them. His mouth is as big a mess as mine was.

~My thanks to *Kiliki* for the siggy and Lucy S for the blinkies~

DSD just got hers off after 18 months. I had braces four times starting in 4th grade and ending when I was 22. I had severe jaw issues. Dh had braces because of very crooked teeth. Our boys are screwed.

I had them. So far Brody is looking pretty good. His teeth are not perfect, but they are pretty good. He'll probably need braces for a short time. Olivia will DEFINITELY need them. She has a little underbite so we are preparing for that. Jenna is an unknown right now. She has only lost two teeth on the bottom so far, so it's hard to tell just yet how her teeth are going to come in.

I am not sure yet about my kids.

My mouth was a mess and it was amazing how fast braces helped! I didn't even have to have any pulled.

Neither DH nor I ever needed braces or anything, so my fingers are crossed that Leah will have straight teeth as well!
Thanks to Kiliki for my super cute siggy!

I should have had them but my mom never cared enough to take me to the dentist as a kid so now i am deathly afraid to go even though i know i need to so my teeth will stay healthy but every time i pick up the phone to make an appointment i have a panic attack. I hate it!! So far thankfully all of the kids teeth have been perfect they said..no cavities, all straight etc.
