What does a typical day for you look like?

Here is mine:
Get older kids off to school
Baby and I head to the gym
Come home and I eat breakfast and play with baby for a while and then baby goes down for a nap
While baby is napping I clean up the house a little and prep what I can for dinner
When baby gets up he gets lunch and we run any errands after that
Play with baby
Older kids get home and I help with homework if needed and they do chores
Depending on the day I bring kids to/from activities
Baby goes down for second nap and I get dinner made
We all eat together
Then we all hang out and watch movies or play games or whatever

Ok, well this is a typical week day for me. (who am I kidding, most days because DH works so much)

Get up, eat breakfast together (drink lots of coffee!). Scope out the web while doing this.

Take a bath with baby

Tidy kitchen, start laundry, make beds.

Play with baby.

Eat lunch together.

Put baby down for nap.

While she takes her nap, I might tidy, clean bathrooms or mop, do bookwork (chores I cannot do while she is awake), or sometimes I read a magazine or book. Most of the time I hang out online.

Give baby a snack when she wakes up.

Sometimes we will take a walk or go to the park after this, depending on the time and the weather.

Work on supper.

Eat supper when DH gets home.

Tidy up, and then watch TV/hang out as a family.

Put baby to bed.

Relax with DH.

Well I'm still working for another month, so right now it's:

Wake up, breakfast and get ready for work
Work (or act like I'm working while really spending time on JM...)
Come home for lunch and let Max out to run around for a bit
Back to Work
Home and make dinner
Work on something baby related
Watch a TV show with DH before bed

I did forget to add my internet surfing time in there! Usually I got on in like 5-10 minute spurts at random times of the day.

Today I had to skip the gym because my little guy is teething and full of boogers! Don't want his little nose running all over the toys there (and they would likely call me out of exercise to take him home anyways!).

mine is very specific!

7.15am: up, washed and dressed while dh feeds harry his breakfast.
7.40am: get jake up and we have breakfast together, then general organising everyone for their day.
8.50am: we leave to take jake to school
9.30am: We get home and put harry down for a nap. I do some housework, make some calls and i have my online time then.
11.30am: Harry wakes and he plays while i cook his lunch.
12.00: Harry has lunch
12.30pm: I have lunch
1.00pm: Play time
1.35pm: We leave to collect jake from school.
2.15pm: Home. I get jake changed into his play clothes and get him a snack. While he is eating, I put harry down for a nap. While harry is sleeping, i tidy up a bit and i do homework with jake,
3.30pm: Harry gets up and we have some play time.
4.30pm: I start fixing dinner
5.00pm: I feed harry. He cant wait, and if i give him a snack earlier he wont eat his dinner.
5.40pm: we have dinner and harry has some finger food.

after that its alot more relaxed. Bed for harry is at 7pm and for jake its 7.30pm. Once the kids are in bed i get lunches and clothes ready for the following day while dh does a quick clear up. Then we just relax before bed!

I wish my routine was a little more specific. I've been in an adjustment mode.

I wake up between 6 and 6:30.
Let dogs out, get DD ready for school.
Once she gets on the bus (7:20), I give the puppies breakfast and make coffee. If I didn't have time earlier, I'll clean up from her breakfast, etc and run the dishwasher if I didn't the night before.
Have my coffee and some computer time until around 9.
If I have to make appointments or pay bills, this is also when I do that.
Then I get dressed and ready for the day.

This is the part that varies alot depending on what my plans are for the day. I need more structure here, but I have been unsuccessful so far. I get interrupted in what I want to do each day quite often because something comes up. While I love for people to drop in or get invited to do things, it drives me nuts. I am not a last minute plans type of person at all.

(3:30) DD gets home and homework time
After homework, I make dinner and maybe finish anything up I had to interrupt for homework, if there is time. We eat between 5-6 depending on how much homework she has and how long whatever I make takes. I also feed the dogs.
After we eat, I clean up from dinner, get lunch and clothes ready for the next day, get DD in the shower.
(8:00) DD in bed and I have free time. I make a list of anything I want to do the next day, go on the computer, read, play with pups. Sometimes I will try and get a bit of cleaning done but usually I am to tired. I go to bed between 11-12.

Up at 6 with DH. Chat over coffee before he leaves for work.
Exercise, shower.
Coffee/computer time. Leah usually wakes by 8. She eats breakfast, then has some playtime.
I eat breakfast, organize myself for the day, and we usually do homeschool around 10ish.
Lunch around 11:30.
Leah plays, I work on any chores. Or we run errands if need be. Fridays we go the park with other homeschoolers.
Start prepping dinner around 4-4:30. DH gets home around 5, we eat dinner then.
Evenings we might play outside for a bit or in the playroom with Leah, take Dodge (our dog) for walk or car ride.
Bath/brush teeth/stories and then bedtime for Leah is 8:30-9pm. DH & I read, chat, relax and usually go to bed around 10.
Thanks to Kiliki for my super cute siggy!

My days vary so much... But here goes..

6:30 wake up
6:40 wake up youngest (#1&2 are already awake)
6:45 wake up #3 (this can be a challenge)
6:45-7:00 get 4 different breakfasts -- because they never eat the same thing
7:00 quickly make 4 lunches before grumpy DH gets downstairs and complains I am taking too much room
7:00-7:15 get kids moving; pack school bags
7:15-7:20 brush DDs hair
7:20-7:30 make sure kids are wearing proper coats/boots and final check that bags are packed
7:30 DH and kids head out to the bus
7:40-8:40 me time, lie on couch watching TV and replying to email
8:45-9:45 breakfast while replying to important emails
9:45-12:30 volunteer paperwork (maybe grab a shower)
12:30 lunch
1:00 run errands or social meeting with friends or start supper depending on hockey schedule
3:10 head to end of driveway to meet bus
3:10-3:30 bus arrives

This is where things get hairy. It depends on who has hockey, where and what time.
Hockey may be as early as 4:30 so I would get them off the bus and head right to the rink.
or if hockey is at 5:30, homework and snacks and supper at 7:30
If hockey is at 6:30 or later, kids eat a simple supper (like pasta) and no snack.

Whenever we get home from rink...
If before 7:30, kids eat and if DH is home we eat together.
If later, I prepare supper for DH and I, get kids in bed (8:30ish depending on hockey) and then we eat.
9-10 I clean up kitchen, start packing snacks for next day, lay out clothes.
10-10:30 sit and watch a quick show with a hot cup of tea.
10:30 start dishwasher, and laundry if applicable.
10:45 in bed

Rink Mom your morning school routine made me laugh!

I too have one that is tricky to wake up. I usually have to go back to his room at least twice to make sure he is up.

Then I try to give everyone a breakfast they will like while making their school lunches. As I do that I am trying to keep a 1 year old fed and out of trouble

My wake up time is sometimes different but the kids are always up at this time no matter what

5 am - kids wake up
5:45 am - dh makes kids breakfast if i am up i will help cook or entertain kids
6:15 am - clean up breakfast mess/ get everyone changed/dressed and ready for the day
7:00 am - kids play until whenever I get up if I am still sleeping. (rare)
we pretty much do nothing until closer to school time/bus. we basically watch kid show, clean, play, outside etc.
11:45 am - Walk out to DD bus stop, bus is supposed to come at 11:45 but its always late.
12:15 pm - go home from bus stop, make smaller kids lunch and mine.
1:00 pm - NAPTIME! I try to get 2 yr old to nap sometimes he will, sometimes he wont. Baby naps all through out the day, so no set times.
2:00 pm - if he naps we run any errands needed if he fights it we go early and i pray he passes out during the drive.
3:25 pm - get raleigh from bus stop, makes snack, homework etc.
Thats about all thats predictable because some nights i go into work at 4 pm, 5 pm, 7 pm or 8 pm.

If I dont work until 6 or 7 then I make dinner, if I work early then dh figures that out when he gets home. I always meet him at my job with the kids so he can take them home because I dont have enough time to get to work if I wait for him to get home from work. So we are always on the go it seems

I know dh does bedtime and the kids are all put in bed at 7 pm, moving it up to 6:40 though because ds has been trying to skip his naps and he needs bedtime by 5, lol. I work until anyways from 12 am, 2 am or 3 am. I get home usually around 3:30 or 4 and sleep, get up and do it all over again the next day.

All days are different because we have a lot of dr apts thrown in there every week, DD has gymnastics on Wed night and Ballet on Thursday night.
Nessa proud married working mother of three kids in Washington state. Trying to raise our family of five as LDS. Taking life one day at a time.
Jordan - 6 yr; Stan - 4 yr; & Tyler - 2 yr.

Really it depends on the time of week.

Usually I'm up by 7.
Belle is dressed, fed and on the bus for school by 8:45 am.
Emily and I hang out at home watch some shows on PBS, eat breakfast, work on laundry or play
We have lunch at 12.
Emi is down for a nap between 1 and 2 if she needs one.
While she naps I work on dishes, read or surf the net (Though lately it's been spent doing things needed for our move)
I get Emi up at 3 pm and we have a snack.
Joe and Belle are usually home by 4.
We eat dinner by 6 pm, and have stories and baths by 7:30 when Emi goes to bed.
Belle is in bed at 8 pm.
Then Joe and I either watch Food Network, play games or just do our own thing.

I don't have a specific schedule. We do home schooling during the day (it takes us a good 6-8 hours to do that), with lunch in there sometime whenever we have a break. I do a load of dishes from the previous night before DH gets home anywhere between 4pm and 6pm. On Wednesdays we leave at 530 to get DS to youth group at 6pm, then we have our date night until 830 when we pick him up again. Otherwise, every other day DH gets home and we have dinner, watch some tv, then DS takes a shower at 930, then feeds the dog and cats, and we all go to bed at 10pm and I read or go online until I'm tired. Every couple days I throw a load of laundry in sometime during the day. On Saturday we do our grocery shopping, and Sunday is church.

chicken lady it sounds like you are pretty busy! Do you find your house gets messier because you homeschool? If my kids were all home all day I think my house would be a disaster! lol
