Do you get one? How about your kids?

I didn't get one this year and I always do but now that this whole flu thing is wide spread the news is freaking me out, I'm thinking I should get one.

**Thank you Bokkechick for my awesome siggy**

We have never got them either. I am totally not for it for one main reason because everytime its offered they tell me the flu shots include the swine flu ( H1N1 )vaccine in it. I just have mixed feelings about that vaccine. However, I hear that the US is having the worst outbreak of flu ever and there has been alot of poor outcomes from it. That is really scary and makes me wonder if its worth searching for more info about whats included in the flu shot and if there are any offered that are just the flu shot itself.

None of us get them...never do.

Personally, every year they seem to say the same thing "worst outbreak ever", "really bad strain this year", etc and I just dont believe it.

This year its scary and ugly again and limited vaccines and not super success with them and all that. Seems these comments are made yearly.

None of us have ever had the flu and if we get it we'll buckle down and tend to it.

~My thanks to *Kiliki* for the siggy and Lucy S for the blinkies~

Another no here, none of us. I've actually never had a flu shot- and *knock on wood* I've never in my LIFE gotten the flu. DH and Alexis do not get it, either. It's the one shot/only one I refuse.

We are very pro-vaccination and my husband is diabetic so getting the flu could be deadly for him. We all got our flu shot, though I did the nasal spray version because I hate needles.

I don't vaccinate for flu shots. They push it really hard up here and I am just not comfortable with it. That and a few others. I am VERY selective with vaccinations.

I'm also selective with vaccinations. I have never had a flu shot and i've never had the flu. My kids wont be getting one either.

As hillarie aid, if we get the flu we will batten down the hatches and get on with it. None of us have any underlying medical conditions that would complicate a dose of the flu.

I thought about it a lot and decided to do the flu shot for Sophia. She is in contact with a lot of snotty noses at the gyms daycare and the library.

DH and I got the flu shot as well. I don't know if it will help but I am going to do whatever I can to not get sick. I am eating lots of fruits with Vitamin C, too.

The kids, Dh and I never have gotten a flu shot.
I can count the number of times I've picked up the flu as an adult on one hand.
The kids got a mild case of the stomach flu one year. It's not as bad as all that. I'd rather have the flu than a wicked sore throat and cough or something.
I dont worry about it, but we also homeschool so they are not in contact with a class full of children every day so I don't know if that has much to do with it but they are healthy kids and rarely get sick.
I understand many people feel differently and I respect that but unless youre at high risk with health problems I dont see the point of receiving a flu shot.
Healthy individuals should not need a flu shot.
Flu strains are different year by year and the flu vaccines are not as effective as most people believe.

Friends of mine get the flu vaccine for their whole family every year and at least one of them gets sick every year anyway.

Flu vaccine not as effective as thought, new study says | Minnesota Public Radio News

If youre unsure about what choice is best for you or your little one just make sure you research it to the best of your ability and speak to your doctor candidly about it.
