I am DEATHLY afraid of epidurals/needles. I've had 3 med free natural labors and plan to do the same thing il this time provided all goes well.

I would go natural if you can! I had an epidural due to an emergency c-section... I would not dilate.

I am leaning on getting the epidural because I want to have a good experience of labor and not get so scared of the experience that I don't want to do it again.

My husband wants me to get an epidural. He said his son was a decent size and he is worried for me, since I am petite.

I'm leaning toward an epidural (my husband wants me to get one) just because I don't want to be scared off by childbirth. So much so that I don't want to go through it again in case we want another child.

I was in labor for 7 hours. I got contractions after every 5 mintues. The pain was not too much miserable. It was bearable for me. I didn't know it is labor pain. I thought as something else due to too much bed rest. I don't tell my midwife about it. When next mornig, they decided to shift me in labor room, I asked them about it. They were all surprised how I stand up with it. They tried for one hour if I could do it vaginal birth. I was too much afraid. My BP and baby heartbeat were normal. They asked me if I want c-section. I get ready for it. I was already mentally prepared for it. No need to use epidural.
