If you have a laproscopic surgery to diagnose/remove endometriosis, how long do you have to wait after that to start TTC again?

I would like to know the same answer..I just had a lap done on Fri. & dont go back to the RE for 2wks. Wondering if I will have to wait another full cycle before really "trying" once again. I did not know I had endo until RE discovered it while doing the lap, said it was Stage 1...I had surgery planned to remove a polyp and that just showed up as well. How bout you ??

Hi! I recognize you from the Fertility Charting!
I don't know for sure if I have endo, but I have symptoms that are making me wonder if I do (pain down my legs all the way to my foot, in my butt, back, and thighs starting about 3-5 DPO). I had these symptoms before I got pregnant with my son and now they are back and getting worse. I am going to make an appointment today to see my OB/GYN sometime soon to discuss all this. Apparently surgery is the only way to diagnose endo definitively, so I'm just wondering if I do have a lap done how long it will derail our TTC journey.

When I had my lap- I was told 2-3 full cycles. Just because things are still healing inside there.
I had a friend who got pregnant the cycle right after her Lap and she said she was in terrible pain for the first 4 months of her pregnancy. Her Doctor blamed in on the Lap surgery saying that "With a baby/uterus growing as such high speeds- it streches the adhesion scars- before they're even completely healed.

All I was ever told was to wait 30 days before having sex, but we weren't TTC at that time. We'd only been married 2 weeks

My surgeon told me as soon as we felt like it. We didn't BD for about 2 weeks after my surgery, and we were ttc the cycle afterwards- no break in between.
Our TTC journey: 6 cycles Clomid, lap surgery/ D&C, IUI, 2 x IVF; 41 cycles- BFN.
IVF#1 (March 2010) Transferred two 8-cell grade A (perfect) embies- BFN and heartbroken.

IVF#2/FET#1 (Jan/Feb 2011):Transferred two (7&8 cell) grade A (PERFECT) embies- BFN again.
IVF#3/FET#2 (November 2014) Transferred two perfect blasts- First BFP Ever.

BABY BOY- JULY 2015 @ 34 weeks 6 days

Our family is now complete. The End.
