Hi everyone, my name is Stacey, I am mom to Georgie 3 and Ethan 2. I just spent the weekend getting my garden area built and if the rain ever stops I've got all my little seedlings I planted a couple of weeks ago ready to go in the ground. We live on four acres and have a lot of wildlife around us so I had to put something up to keep everything out. I ended up buying a 10x10 dog kennel and putting a couple of raised beds in it. This will be my first year gardening in a long time so I'll need lots of pointers!

Here's a picture of my garden area.

Good luck with your first year gardening. I love the idea of the dog kennel. If you have problems with birds or squirls then you can put a top on that thing too.

That's an awesome idea and it looks great. I love the steps you have going through it too.

Thanks, I hope it turns out to be a genius idea and I don't wake up one morning to find that a deer has trampled it to the ground! I'm trying to change the path the deer take to get to the golf course with salt licks and plants that are deer proof, fingers crossed it works. I have bird netting in the garage ready to go if they dare try and have a go at my garden. I also dug wire into the ground around it to keep the moles and rabbits out. I am trying to do everything right, only time will tell.
