I compost! I don't have anything fancy, just a big tote that I keep on my porch and throw all my vegi scraps in it. Some of them I cut into smaller pieces, I leave out corn cobs and egg shells (you can use them but they need to be crushed and I'm too lazy for that!) Turn it once in awhile and let it cook.

You can get a big compsting bin, some of them are really nice (and expensive) but you don't have to in order to make some nice rich compost!

DH has a friend who is giving us some rain barrels and one of the compost barrels. I'm anxious to get it and get started on it!

Yep and super easy to do. You are supposed to turn the compost once in awhile but we are lazy and do it way less often than we should. No matter though, the stuff still breaks down with time, it just takes longer. Basically we just throw stuff in there and leave it. Pretty easy.

We have black bins like the ones here: Recycling and Composting at Home

If you scroll down they are pictured. We've actually been to a couple of the composting classes.

I recently made a bin out of 4 old pallets tied together! Free, easy, and fast!
