I am so glad I came across this board. I didn't have any one to talk about Emily's weight issues with that understood. Here is her stats

10/05/08 (born) 7lbs 7oz
20 1/2 in

10/22/08 (2 weeks) 7lbs 9oz
21 in.

12/11/08 (2 months) 9lbs 2oz
22 3/4 in.

2/03/09 (4 months) 10lbs
23 3/4 in.

4/9/09 (6 months) 11lbs 10oz
25 1/4 in.

She was gaining good to begin with, but in the last few months she has gained anything. At her last appointment doc wanted to do a thyroid test. It came back fine. He didnt mention anything else. I guess she is just going to be real small. I am 5'4 and 115 and my husband is 5'5 and 155, so we are pretty small. Her brother was 15lbs 1oz at 6 months. Her weight gain still worries me though. She eats real good. She nurses every few hrs then has round 6 jars of stage 2 gerber aday. Doc told us not limit her solids and to just give her as much as she wants, we even had formula to her food for extra calories. Does anybody else just have a small child with no health issues?

Hi and welcome! I'm Tracy and my little guy is Jonah. He is healthy, just small! He also eats well and gained well in the beginning but tapered in weight after 6 months. He'll be 23 months in 10 days and weighs 19.5lbs.

welcome!! My 10mos old only weighs 12lbs, and has only gained 4lbs since birth. We have done so much testing, had the feeding tube, and so many blood tests, she actually goes in Monday for an endoscopy and a biopsy of her stomach.
Is your dr concerned about the weight issue?

He said she is gaining but very slowly. He said he would like to see her have a little growth spurt or something. We did a thyroid test at 6 month app. and it came back normal. So now he wants to see what she weighs at 9 months and go from there since she is hitting all her milestones he said he wasnt too worried about it. I think she is just gonna be a small girl, since me and her daddy are both small.

Welcome! I'm sorry that her weight has become a concern, but you guys may be right! She may just be small and healthy! I know lots of people who are small and healthy!!! No syndromes, no disorders, no imbalances-just small! Still, I know that it's worrisome when your LO has ANYTHING abnormal going on! Good for you guys for going through with the tests-better to rule things out than to wonder, right?
