I began spotting late Monday night, then had heavy flow AF Tues., Wed., and Thurs. When I woke up Friday it had suddenly stopped. Nothing on Saturday either and nothing on Sunday. I have never EVER had an AF this short. That's 3 days. Mine is usually about 6 days. 7 days if I am unlucky, and 5 if I am lucky. What the heck does a 3 day AF mean? Could it be from the vitamins I am on? I am on Folbic, which is mega doses of folic acid, b6 and b12. I also take a regular prenatal (the gummy kind from Target). Should I expect that I'd ovulate a lot sooner since AF ended sooner? Or does that not have anything to do with it? Argh. So confusing. I'd have scheduled my next RE appointment for earlier in the week had I known it'd be over with so soon...instead, I scheduled it for Thursday, just in case AF decided to be longer. Just my luck it ended up being shorter. lol. Just to check, I did do a HPT...and it was totally stark white negative.

This has me totally confused. My body sucks lately!! Although, a 3 day AF from here on out would be pretty cool (as long as its healthy and there's nothing wrong...).

My AF has changed since my loss. I never had it as long as 7 days, but it used to be around 5 days. After my loss, it got shorter...and I've had a lot of 3 day AFs. I really hope it's nothing to be concerned about. I'd definitely ask your RE when you're there. They should be able to give you an answer.

I'll be interested to hear what your RE says. I've read elsewhere, too, that AF can change after a loss, but I was under the impression it was just the first few that were different. If it's the abundance of folic acid, that would be very interesting.

I hope you get a good answer when you go in.

I know you ovulate sooner with shorter periods. That's how it is with me anyways. so when I have a 3 days period I ovulate 3 days sooner.. It makes sense. Good luck!!!

JulieMc, my 1st AF (this month after D&C) was similar to what you describe, though I spotted for 3 days, had 2 heavy days, then spotted but barely for 4 more. I usually have days: 2 heavy, 1 medium, 1 light, 1 spotting. This cycle of O for me is very strange as well.
