I just started using the OPK. I was trying to do basal charting, but was unseuccessful. I bought a pack of seven and have been using then sporatically since the fisrt day of my cycle...up until today i would get very faint lines, but today, which is the 12th day of my cycle according to my ovilation app i got a line that was very similar in color to the control ( which seemed onlyslightly darker)...could this be a positive or does it need to be darker than the control??? Would it be possible to get a false positive??? how can i be sure the TIME has finally come. I CAN NOT lose this window of opportunity. Should i start intercourse now???

Sorry so long...not familiar with all the abbreviations. Thanks for your help ladies!!!!!

I only have knowledge of what I've read from others. But it seems as though you have either a positive or almost positive. I don't know anything about them really... But maybe a picture would be helpful...

Without pictures it's hard to say, but it sounds either positive or nearly so. It doesn't need to be darker than the control line. I say dtd tonight and every other night for the next week. Keep testing, too, just to see if the lines get darker.

False positives are rare- it's likely that your body did indeed have a LH surge. BUT there's a very, very small chance that you can have an LH surge, and NOT ovulate, or have another surge in another few days. Very small chance. Either way, it's nothing you can control.

Fingers crossed for you!
