...does your little one have? This being Eric's first Christmas, we're pretty worried we - and he - are going to be absolutely overwhelmed by toys. Our hope is to keep a handle on things, we want one toy chest that can be full of toys and when it gets full we'll trade out old ones for new ones. Right now, we just have a big plastic bin full, but we've got two sets of grandparents to go, heh.

Do you try to keep a handle on how many toys your little one has?

He doesn't have a lot of big toys--he just makes a toy out of everything--spoons, tops, bibs...

I tend to rotate his toys so he doesn't get bored of the toys. Though big things like his "Intellitainer" (aka gigantic exersaucer type thing) stays out all the time. He will get more toys at Christmas and I did get him a toy box type thing to keep the toys in. I like the idea you mentioned of only allowing as many toys as fit in the toybox and then if he wants any new ones he has to get rid of an old one.

I not only have grandparents, but great grandparents, great aunts/uncles and great-great aunts/uncles to contend with. Luckily my great great aunt just sent money so I'll start his education fund with that.

Amber's got waaayyyyy too many toys. She's got 2 huge storage containers that are overflowing. 1 has regular toys, the other has stuffed animals. I couldn't think of anything to get her for Christmas because she already has everything! lol.
