I ask because DF and I had sex everyday from 8/20 until the 27th and I got AF on 29th. I read it can stay for up to 5 days. So when I got AF did the sperm come out as well or does it stay in? And does that mean the sperm has stay for 25 days now (5 days X 5 times we had sex)?

About a week and a half after AF I got spotting and cramping, headaches, bloating, and backaches. Thought AF was coming again..but NO. AF is due on 10/2. Is there any chance I could be pregnant? I'm confused..I've never had spotting after my period

I was always under the impression sperm can live inside the body up to 72 hours.

You know, I've asked that same question.. up to 72 hours most definitely, but I have also heard from nurses up to 4-6 days as well. But I'm sure it all depends on the "conditions"

Under ideal conditions, sperm will live a week inside of you, but most last 2-3 days. I always heard that blood nourished sperm. That's why women can get pregnant on their period. Say the blood gives the sperm its max week long life span, and you ovulate early like on CD 10-12, you could get pregnant.

Some of the sperm will gel up around the cervix, die, and fall out with the semen 24 hours after sex. Some interacts with cells in the uterus, die, and are absorbed by the body or shed with your period. Some make it to the tubes, interact with cells there, die, and get absorbed by your body. Your tubes don't shed a lining so any sperm there would be absorbed by the body.

How long was your AF? 5-7 days? 10 days after that is ovulation normally... Cramping, headaches, backaches, breast pain, irritability, and even spotting are common symptoms for ovulation. It's very possible that you just ovulated.
