Hi again ladies!

So I'd like to get the hang of charting before me and DH are ready to start trying. I'm on Mirena right now, and I plan to get it removed at the end of May.

Can I start charting now, just to get the hang of it? I don't really get a period, though -- sometimes only once every 2 or 3 months. I've read that's it not reliable and your temps could be wonky.

Is it dumb to do if there's a chance my cycle could change once the Mirena is removed? Also, does anyone know how exercise affects charting?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Have you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility? If you're just now starting to chart I recommend it, it's an awesome read!

In terms of charting while on bc...I charted before we were officially NTNP (while we still used protection) just to get the hang of it. It took me a while to recognize different CMs and to consistently remember to take my temp in the morning. Of course when you're on bc and then off of it your cycle *could* be totally different, but at least you'll have been doing it for a while and you'll feel a little more comfortable (at least that was my view lol.)

You can't chart while on hormonal birth control. When you are on hormonal birth control, it prevents ovulation and the natural rhythms of your reproductive hormone system.
You could chart just to get in the habit of taking your temp, but your charts are not going to produce any useful information, unfortunately.

Exercise should not effect charting at all.
Thank-you Bokkechick for the beautiful siggy!

Sorry for the double post btw, I wasn't sure which board to put it under.

Thanks for the thoughts. I'm so anxious to get rid of my IUD and let my body get back to normal. Unfortunately I'm training for a marathon and I"m worried my hormones will screw with me if I get it removed any time soon.

Should not be a problem at all As Urchin said, it will not produce anything but will help you get use to it. GOOD LUCK with the marathon, that is one thing on my bucket list
