When do you turn on your heat in your house?

What temperature do you keep it at?

It depends but I usually hold of until November 1st. I set it at 66 and then I will turn it up to 67 in Dec. and 68 in Jan. Then back down to 67 in Feb. We also have a coal stove to help keep the oil cost down.

Occasionally on chilly mornings usually beginning in October I might turn it on for a few hours just to help me get going in the morning because when its so cold I just want to bundle in blankets and sit on the couch!
I usually set it to about 68 but lower once we get the windows sealed off for the winter months.

I try not to turn the heat on until it's consistently very, very cold. Probably 30's. I'll try to keep it around 68 this year, DH complains!

If it's going to get into the 40s at night, I turn the heat on. My daughter is famous for kicking off her blanket so I don't want her to be cold. I normally set it around 70 during the night, though last night I think it felt a little cold at times, so I may bump it up to 72 for my sake. Ha.
