Jennifer's post got me thinking - do any of you have bunk beds already? If so, what ages did you start using them and how has it gone?

We have Beth and Matt's beds separated into twins for now - but they can turn into a bunk bed. I just don't trust them with that right now...plus Carrie would no doubt go in there and climb up on it. I'll be glad when they are old enough though since it will free up a lot of space.

No bunk beds here. I'd be afraid of Natalie climbing to the top & falling. My girls are widely spaced so I know Ari wouldn't be too keen on sharing a bed w/ her sister.

But I'm sure once they are older that will be a great space saver! Plus I bet the kids will love it!

We are fortunate enough for the girls to have their own rooms and to have been given beds for them by family - so no bunk beds here. Kaylee was given a full size bed and Vanessa has a twin.

Growing up we had bunk beds thought and I can remember my youngest sister being 3 or 4 and sleeping in it with my other sis.

Bunk beds would scare me...the girls are lucky enough to have their own rooms anyway.

As soon as Daniel grows out of his crib (appx 18 mos), the boys will have bunk beds. My twin and I had them starting around 18-24 months, and we never had a problem with it... back in the days before they had rails, too.
