Last night Laurence and I were watching a movie. About halfway through, around 10:30pm, we heard shouting from the neighbors house.

Just to fill you in...we have one visible neighbor who live about 70 feet away and are very anti-social with us.

Anyhow...we paused our movie and had to be nosy and tried to hear what the shouting was about. We could only make out that they were shouting at or about their dog.

We laughed about how nosy we were being and went back to watch the movie.

Fast forward to this morning - around 8am. I had to walk our dog out to "do his business" and happened to glance at the neighbor's house. In their yard, facing our yard...was/is a dead racoon!!!!!!!!!

The neighbor's dog is a hunting dog. Very well trained at it too. My guess is they had him outside last night and he caught the poor racoon!

I'm pretty sure the law is to call animal control and the racoon will need ot be tested for rabies. This should be interesting. I hope their dog is OK. And I would hope that if the racoon came back positive for rabies they'd let us know.

Not for nothing but they have an electric fence and let their dog roam in the yard quite often on his own, even though we regularly have deer, beer, fox, turkeys and other wild animals pass through! I'm terrified that one day the dog will go after a bear!

My dog has a 20x20 fenced in area that he'll go in when we can't watch his every move outside. Otherwise, he's in the house with us or sticks right by our side!

OK. Story/vent over.

Oh yuck about the raccoon!! I'd be keeping my dog inside too if you have all those wild animals just hanging out in the area.

No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all, you are the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside." AA&NJ
