I think im going with my gut feeling and taking him to the doc tommorrow.

I took the kids to visit my inlaws one day last week, and while we were up there, my mother in law told me that Jadens lips had no color in them. I felt so bad, because, I had not noticed this prior to her really telling me this.
Maybe I did notice it, but in the back of my mind, I was thiking (we havent been outside, to thats why he looks so pale).

For the past few weeks, he has lost a lot of color in his face, he looks pretty pale, his lips are a lot more pale than normal, and his eyes have dark circles under then. Like what we look like when we don't get enough sleep, or what you'd imagine a "malnourished' child to look like.
But that is just not the case, he eats ALL THE TIME, and he drinks a lot of those V-8 Fusion Drinks (the ones that have a full serving of fruits and veggies) he drinks at least two a day. (his choice,. its his fave!!)

Anyway, He is 3 1/2 years old, (four in June) and he's been potty trained for around a year and a half now (he was nearly close to two and a half when he potty trained) and last week he peed in his bed twice.- not that this is a big deal but then yesterday he was building blocks, and standing on a chair to make his"block tower" taller and he told me "mommy, i spilled water on my pants' but he didnt have any water. I got to looking and found out that he had peed on himself, especially after I noticed the puddle in the chair (it actually puddled, even though he was wearing blue jeans), I aske dhim about it and he told me that he didn't even feel it.

Now, all in all, He has "messed up" his pants, around 6 times in the past week and a half. Nothing has changed at our house. We are still on the same schedule we've always been on. Everything is still the same.

I am wondering if maybe something is causing this. I asked if he is hurting anywhere (thinking maybe a kidney or bladder infection) but he says no.
He doesnt have a fever or anything. He is the regular hyper little sweatheart that he always is.

Do you think it might be tying in with him being so pale.
Tommorrow im going to call his Dr. and talk to them about it to see if they can do a blood test, to check his iron levels or maybe advise me on it.
Hes been taking a multivitamin (Flinstones).

Kalli, (our two year old) is fine. She has the normal color to her face and everything..So i know it has nothing to do with the sun...

Any idea's, suggestions, advice? or am I just being overly paranoid!?

Sorry I tried to google it a few ways and nothing really came up that was worth meantioning. Lots of Halloween stuff!

Anyhow I would definately take him in and get him checked. Better safe IMO. Make sure you come back and let us know.

I agree about taking him in. Not to scare you but there can be underlying causes such as cancer that you wouldn't "see" without a blood test, so he should definitely be taken in and checked. Can't hurt to take him, but it could not to, so I would take him if it were my son.

I took him. His blood levels were fine. His urine looked fine and they want to do an ultrasound on his bladder just tomake sure the muscles are working well. however is asthma has gotten really bad, so now we have to have a nebulizer instead of his little inhalor. and he is going to have to use it twice a day...poor little guy,,
but everythign else looked A-ok!

Glad to hear that.

Do you mind me asking when he was diagnosed with asthma?

He was diagnosed with Asthma a few months back after I took him in with a really bad cold. He was wheezing really bad, and they thought it might be cold induced asthma at first.

But, after (we went through this with my youngest daughter, ever since she was 4 months old, but she outgrew hers)...but ever since he was really little, every time he would get really active or start running or anything, he would end up coughing so hard that he would nearly throw up.
My husband and I had always thought he was just playing really hard. We had no clue it had anything to do with Asthma.

So, while we were at the doctor this past time, and We were going over all this other stuff, and the doctor was listening to him breathe, and asking me a lot of other stuff. He told me he didnt beleive it was cold induced asthma, as they thought a few months earlier.

He goes back in three weeks to see how he is doing, we will see about going to a respitory therapist (specialist) from there.
We got really blessed when we transferred the kids to their current pediatrician. Their doc now, is a Pediatrician, with a special interest in Asthma. So, he knows what to look for and when to send you to a specialist. I really like him a lot.

Hey...thanks for responding. Sounds like you found a great pediatrician!

I have a friend who's son was the same way. Would cough, puke, etc after playing so hard. Sure enough he has asthma.

Hope things get figured out for you.
