Does anyone know how accurate ultrasounds are on dating a pregnancy? I had my first ultrasound early at 6 weeks, my second at 12, my third at 16 and a few more after because of a few complications that have since resolved. All of them dated me the same and put me at a due date of October 9th with a conception date of January 16th. I just want to know if it is by any means possible that I became pregnant December 23rd when i was mid menstrual cycle because my current boyfriend and I were on a break and i reunited with an ex on that night. However from December 25th on I was back with my current boyfriend and we had intercourse almost everyday. I am just curious what you guys think. We are doing a DNA test once the baby is born however the closes it gets the more concerned i get. :/

If you have had more than 3 ultrasounds and all of them put you at January 16th for conception, you conceived mid-January. No way did his swimmers last almost 3 weeks to fertilize that egg. They normally live no longer than 48 hours, but can sometimes live as long as a week in ideal conditions. US can get off later in pregnancy due to genetics and whatnot, but early on, 6 weeks to 8 weeks, those things are pretty much spot on. When I was sure of my ovulation date, my ultrasounds never varied more than a day from it.

Thank you for the response! I feel a lot better about it. I didn't see it possibly being his but wanted another opinion.

I agree with Spyctre but still do the paternity test if it helps to ease your mind.

Totally agree with the first poster. Ultrasounds are generally accurate to within +/- 5 days. So even those 5 days wouldn't be enough to make that baby the other guy's. Good luck!
