Do you let your LO cry a bit before going to him/her? I try to wait til I know she isnt just whining. She definately needs more attention than Nicole did at that age.

Oh yeah. She'd whine me into an early grave if I let her. If there's no blood, there's no running coming from me!

And when she's waking up from a nap, I always wait a few minutes before I go in...in the slim chance she might just go back to sleep.

Sorry, not even a remote CIO mommy here. Sadly, I sleep-trained my son to fall asleep on me, then every 2-3 weeks, I put him in his bed much sooner after he sleep til I was able to put him down drowsy, but awake.

The only advice I can give is if you have to, set a timer. We did try CIO, but found he would cry himself to the point of vomiting. I hate cleaning up puke, infant, toddler or otherwise. (I avoid doing it myself at all costs.)

The timer would be more for you than your LO because it's hard to sit back and listen to them cry. I couldn't do it.
