First off.... As long as you are prepared and know that it can happen again you are better off this time around. You can tell your OB that you have suffered before and I'm sure he/she will help you deal with it when/if it comes again. That's the good thing about this being a second time for you. You know what to expect so you won't be as unprepared.

Not all mom's are as happy as they look. Most people would never guess that I suffer from PPD. I'm always smiling and happy and loving on my Daughter. but that's main because of the PPD. I have a fear of failing my daughter, not being a good mom to her. And at my darkest times the first thing that goes thru my head is that I should give her to her father and walk away never seeing her again because I'm a failure at being a mom. The sooner you get the help the sooner you can be that happy joyful mom of a newborn.

She's right. They really aren't as happy as they look. It sucks having to paste a smile on your face everywhere you go but it isn't genuine...
