results say I have a 1 in 96 chance of having a baby with Down Syndrome. Of course I am trying not to worry....put it in the Good Lord's hands and what is meant to be will be!!!! Of course it is hard to hear that my odds aren't as good as some - but I will deal with whatever happens. Thanks for the support!

1 in 96 is still a huge chance that your baby will not have down syndrome...just try to take it easy and enjoy the pregnancy! You can't prevent or change anything so just relax...and wait to see your precious baby..I bet he or she will be just perfect!!

I had abnormal results for my test as well - for trisomy 18. We just got back frm our second appointment with the high risk doctor, and everything is perfect with our baby.

I didn't necessarily want to take the test, but hubby did, so I took it. I was devistated when I got back the abnormal results.

We haven't been able to be completely happy until our appointment today - about 7 weeks after the news that the test was abnormal.

If you read about the test, the false-positive rates are VERY HIGH. Most people after further screening have NO problems.

Your risk is very low according to what the doctor says. I know saying you don't have to worry isn't going to make you not worry. Only seeing your baby on the sonogram with a healthy body will do that. I hope you can get in soon with the high-risk doctor.

just remember the high rate of false positives and 1 in 96 is still a big stretch. try not to worry - i know its hard, but there is no sense in worrying about things that you don't know anything for a fact
